Zeebro Terms of Use

In short: Zeebro is a community price database. When you scan a receipt or a shelf tag, you give us permission to use the information in it — anonymously — to build the shared price history everyone benefits from. You can delete your account whenever you want; the anonymous prices you contributed stay in the database. Don't upload fake prices or other people's documents, and don't rely on community prices as a guarantee.

1. Who we are and what these terms cover

These terms govern your use of the Zeebro app and services, operated by a sole trader established in Italy ("Zeebro", "we"). The operator's legal name is at the foot of this page. Contact: [email protected]. By creating an account you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service. Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal data and is part of these terms.

2. The service

Zeebro lets you scan grocery receipts, shelf price tags, and product information. Automated extraction turns your scans into structured data (products, prices, stores, dates) that powers: your private purchase history and spending insights, and the shared, anonymous community price database (price comparison, price history, deals).

The service is free.

3. Eligibility and your account

You must be at least 16 years old. Keep your credentials secure; you are responsible for activity on your account. One account per person.

4. Your contributions and the license you grant us

"Contributions" are anything you submit: receipt photos, receipt QR codes, shelf-tag and product photos, corrections, clarification answers, category suggestions, and reviews.

By submitting a contribution you grant Zeebro a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free, sublicensable and transferable license to host, store, reproduce, process, adapt (including automated extraction), publish, and use it — in particular to:

  1. extract product, price, store, and date information from it;
  2. publish that extracted information anonymously as part of the shared price database (published data never identifies you — see §5);
  3. include accepted product photos in the shared product catalog, without public attribution;
  4. use contributions and extracted data to operate, moderate, improve, and secure the service (including improving our extraction quality); and
  5. create and commercially use aggregated, anonymous datasets and statistics (e.g. average prices, regional demand patterns) that cannot be traced back to you or to any individual purchase.

This license is perpetual for data already published or aggregated — see §7 for what happens on deletion. You keep ownership of your contributions. You may submit receipts from your own purchases and receipts you lawfully collected — for example receipts left behind or discarded at a store; they help keep community prices fresh. You confirm that your contributions were obtained lawfully and that they don't infringe anyone's rights.

5. Our anonymity commitment

Published price data carries no public attribution. Other users — and any third party — can never see who contributed an observation or what any identifiable person bought. Aggregated datasets are produced only with minimum group sizes that prevent re-identification. This commitment is mirrored in the Privacy Policy §3 and survives any other clause of these terms.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • submit false, manipulated, or misleading prices or documents, or documents obtained unlawfully (abandoned or discarded store receipts are fine — see §4);
  • upload unlawful, offensive, or unrelated content (the service pre-screens and moderates all shared content);
  • interfere with the service: no scraping or bulk-extracting the database, no reverse engineering, no circumventing rate limits or moderation;
  • use the service for any commercial data-collection purpose without our written agreement.

We may apply upload quotas and rate limits. We may reject, remove, or unpublish any contribution, and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms — with notice where practicable.

Reporting content. Any signed-in user can report content from the app: open the ⋮ menu on a product's photo, or on any price row, and choose a reason. A reported photo is hidden immediately while we review it. A reported price stays visible until a moderator has checked it — deliberately, so that reporting cannot be used to erase prices other people rely on. We aim to review reports within 24 hours. 7. Deleting your account

You can delete your account at any time in the app (Profile → Account). Your personal data is erased as described in the Privacy Policy §7. Contributions already published or aggregated remain in the community database in their anonymous form — the link to your identity is irreversibly removed, and the historical price data continues to serve the community. This is a condition of contributing to a shared dataset, and you accept it by submitting contributions.

We may terminate or suspend accounts for material breach of these terms; §4's license and §7's survival of anonymous data apply equally in that case.

8. Points, levels and promotional offers

Zeebro may award points, levels, badges, avatars, and similar recognition for accepted contributions. Points have no monetary value, are not redeemable for cash, are non-transferable, and may be adjusted (including where contributions are removed, reversed, or found fraudulent), capped, or discontinued. From time to time we may offer optional conversions of points into partner-funded promotional benefits (for example, a retailer discount coupon). Such offers are voluntary, available while stocks/budgets last, subject to their own displayed conditions, and provided by the partner; they never involve sharing your identity or purchase history with the partner (see Privacy Policy §5 — partners receive only aggregate, anonymous reporting).

9. Community data — no guarantees

Prices in Zeebro are reported by the community and read by automated systems. They can be outdated, wrong, store-specific, or no longer available. Zeebro provides them for information only and makes no warranty as to accuracy, availability, or fitness for any purpose. Always check the price at the store before purchasing. Zeebro is not a party to any purchase you make.

10. Intellectual property

The Zeebro apps, brand, design, and database structure are ours or our licensors'. These terms give you a personal, non-transferable right to use the apps for their intended purpose. The shared price database may not be extracted or re-used in substantial part (sui generis database right, Directive 96/9/EC) without our agreement.

Third-party brands. Product names, retailer names, brand names, logos, and trademarks shown in Zeebro are the property of their respective owners. We show them descriptively, to identify the product or store a price refers to. This is nominative use and implies no affiliation with, endorsement by, sponsorship from, or approval by those owners.

11. Liability

Zeebro is provided free of charge and "as is". To the extent permitted by law, we are liable only for damage caused intentionally or by gross negligence, and for damage arising from injury to life, body, or health. Liability for slight negligence — except for material contractual duties — and for indirect or consequential damages is excluded. Mandatory statutory rights, including consumer rights and product-liability law, remain unaffected.

12. Changes to the service and these terms

We are building actively: features may change, be added, or be discontinued. We will announce material changes to these terms in the app at least [30] days before they take effect; if you do not agree, you may delete your account. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

The law of Italy applies, excluding its conflict-of-law rules and the CISG. If you are a consumer habitually resident in the EU, you also enjoy the protection of the mandatory provisions of your country of residence, and you may sue or be sued at your place of residence. The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr; we are neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution before a consumer arbitration board.
